The Boston Home's 125th Anniversary/Campaign for Care
Celebration Gala Concert to Benefit Care for Adults with Multiple Sclerosis

Liz Walker as Master of Ceremonies with Performances by Livingston Taylor and Katani & Friends

Dorchester, Mass., October 23, 2006 -On Thursday, November 9th, hundreds of supporters of The Boston Home will assemble for a Benefit Gala Concert in the Ballroom at the Campus Center at UMass Boston to kick off the non-profit organization's 125th anniversary celebration and its Campaign for Care. The Boston Home is a sustaining community for adults with advanced Multiple Sclerosis and other progressive neurological diseases.

"This event will celebrate and support The Boston Home's focus of enabling the body, stimulating the mind, and nurturing the spirit of adults living with advanced neurological diseases," says the Boston Home President and CEO Marva Serotkin. "There is national focus on funding and support for cures, but in the meantime we cannot afford to ignore the needs of adults in their 30s, 40s, 50s and older who require specialized care and are often living in geriatric facilities that are not suited to their needs. Our Campaign for Care seeks to raise $250,000 to support and spread the Boston Home's best practices, research, outpatient services, and residential care."

The event will feature live performances by folk/pop icon Livingston Taylor (www.livtaylor.com) and gospel singer Katani & Friends (www.katani.org). CBS4 Sunday with Liz host Rev. Liz Walker, who regularly volunteers in the spirituality and wellness program for residents of The Boston Home, will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The 7 p.m. concert will be preceded by a VIP reception with the artists at 5:30 in the Alumni Lounge.

Tickets are available for $85 (concert) and $125 (VIP reception and concert) and may be purchased online at www.thebostonhome.org or by contacting Florence Rawls at 617-325-4310. Corporate and family sponsorship opportunities are also available. Concert proceeds benefit the Boston Home's 125th Anniversary Campaign for Care.

The event is fully handicapped accessible.
