Kenneth J. Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Dual Eligible and Long Term Supports and Services Populations for United Health Group has joined the Board of Trustees of The Boston Home.
“After a long relationship with The Boston Home for over twelve years (as a neighboring Nursing Facility Administrator and later as a payer and regulator), it is an honor to now be able to serve The Boston Home and its mission as a member of the Board,” said Kenneth Smith.
Mr. Smith is a seasoned Health and Human Services Professional with 30 years of leadership and senior management experience. He served 10 years with the Mass Executive Office of Health and Human Services, as Assistant Commissioner and Chief of Staff of The Department of Developmental Services and Director of the MassHealth Office of Long Term Services and Supports. Mr. Smith is a recognized expert in the field of Long Term Services and Supports in the healthcare arena and is a frequent guest speaker in master’s level university health care courses at Northeastern University, Clark University, and Boston College. In 2013 Mr. Smith published She Presents Well, an educational novel pertaining to Long Term Care. He is also the Vice President of the Old Dover Neighborhood Association.
Mr. Smith earned a B.A. from Boston College and a Master of Science in Health Care Management from Lesley University.
